HARRISON, NY – Somnia Anesthesia, a national anesthesia practice management company, is pleased to announce the winner of its annual Anesthesiologist of the Year award. Nominations were submitted by anesthesiologists, CRNAs and healthcare executives across the country March. Clifford Gevirtz, MD, clinical director of Ambulatory Office-based Anesthesia Services at Somnia Inc. was selected the 2021 award recipient.
The award, established by the company to celebrate National Doctors’ Day, honors the dedication and hard work of anesthesiologists who provide safe, high-quality compassionate care, and clinical excellence. Many of this year’s nominees were chosen for their remarkable performance during the pandemic.
Dr. Gevirtz was nominated for his superior clinical knowledge, his ability to make his patients feel comfortable and at ease and his willingness always to help in any way, especially during the pandemic, when he traveled to sites that were under siege by COVID-19. His colleagues also noted they would not hesitate to recommend him to family and friends.
“I have put into practice many valuable lessons from my colleagues over the years, including finding the best evidence-based answer to every problem,” says Dr. Gevirtz.
The award symbolizes the dedication and devotion of anesthesia clinicians everywhere who work tirelessly to achieve best-in-class patient care and experiences.
