Somnia Anesthesia Seeks Nominations for Second Annual CRNA of the Year Award

NEW ROCHELLE, NY (JANUARY 17, 2013) –  In celebration of National Nurse Anesthetists Week, Somnia Anesthesia will once again recognize an outstanding Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) in its second annual CRNA of the Year contest, the company announced. An anesthesia practice management company serving hospitals, ambulatory surgery centers, and office based practices nationwide, Somnia will be accepting nominations of CRNAs from throughout the country beginning January 21 through February 15.

CRNAs can be nominated at www.somniainc.com/2013CRNA by a fellow CRNA, physician, or other healthcare professional. The winner, who will be selected by a panel of senior-level healthcare clinicians and administrators, will be announced on February 26 during a webinar co-hosted by Somnia and GasWork.com, “Identifying and Developing Clinical Anesthesia Leadership.” The winner will receive an iPad mini and have the opportunity to speak during the presentation.

Last year’s winner Holly Robins, CRNA, MS, MBA, manager of nurse anesthesia at Yale-New Haven Hospital, New Haven, CT, shifted focus from herself to the profession at-large. “It is a privilege to be a nurse anesthetist, and I consider myself fortunate to be able to work in such a dynamic profession.”

“After such a strong response last year, we feel honored to once again recognize the contributions nurse anesthetists make in healthcare facilities across the country,” said Brandy Pearson, Somnia’s national director of recruitment. “Not enough can be said about the role CRNAs have in improving the delivery of healthcare and what better way to show our appreciation than to launch this contest during National Nurse Anesthetists Week.”
