St. Barnabas Hospital is a 461-bed acute-care community hospital and Level I Trauma Center. It holds a rich history of serving patients in the greater Bronx area. St. Barnabas has state-designated centers for stroke and AIDS care. Its eight state-of-the-art operating suites provide care for more than 8,000 general, urological, gynecological, vascular, pediatric, and neurosurgical patients. St. Barnabas Hospital recently completed a major renovation and construction projects, adding a spacious hospital lobby, full-service ambulatory surgery center, operating suite, inpatient short-term hospice unit, and attractive gateways to a garden-like campus.
