St. Barnabas Hospital

St. Barnabas Hospital is a 461-bed acute-care community hospital and Level I Trauma Center. It holds a rich history of serving patients in the greater Bronx area. St. Barnabas has state-designated centers for stroke and AIDS care. Its eight state-of-the-art operating suites provide care for more than 8,000 general, urological, gynecological, vascular, pediatric, and neurosurgical patients. St. Barnabas also houses two endoscopy rooms in which 2,500 procedures are performed each year. Pediatric cases range from routine, such as tubes and tonsils (ENT), to complex traumas. A high-risk obstetrical service oversees more than 1,150 live births each year, 60% of which involve epidurals. St. Barnabas Hospital recently completed a major renovation and construction projects, adding a spacious hospital lobby, full-service ambulatory surgery center, operating suite, inpatient short-term hospice unit, and attractive gateways to a garden-like campus.
