Somnia Names Robert Karpinos, MD Chief of Anesthesiology at St. Barnabas Hospitals
NEW ROCHELLE, NY (JANUARY 30, 2013) – Robert Karpinos, MD, has been named Chief of Anesthesiology at St. Barnabas Hospital in the Bronx, New York. Dr. Karpinos will be responsible for managing and leading the anesthesia team at the hospital. Anesthesia services at the hospital are provided by Bronx Anesthesia Services, PC, which is managed by Somnia Inc., a national anesthesia services provider based in New Rochelle, New York.
Dr. Karpinos, who most recently practiced at Hackensack University Medical Center in New Jersey, has 20 years of clinical practice experience at major healthcare facilities in New York and New Jersey. In addition to his medical background, Dr. Karpinos held positions as Assistant Professor of Anesthesiology at the Touro University College of Medicine and a clinical instructor in the department of anesthesiology of University of Medicine and Dentistry in New Jersey. Most recently, he worked asthe clinical leader of the Division of Vascular Anesthesiology at Hackensack University Medical.

After receiving his undergraduate degree from the University of Michigan, Dr. Karpinos earned his doctor of medicine degree at the Sackler School of Medicine in Tel-Aviv, Israel. He completed his residency in anesthesiology at New York University Medical Center and also a residency in internal medicine at North Shore University Hospital Cornell Medical Center.
