Recording of Webinar Focused on Anesthesia Job Market Available for Download

NEW ROCHELLE, NY (November 1, 2012) – A recent webinar focused on the job market for anesthesia clinicians, sponsored by Somnia Anesthesia and GasWork.com is now available for download.“Anesthesia Careers: Trends and Opportunities,” was presented live to a large national audience of anesthesiologists and certified registered nurse anesthetists (CRNAs) on October 23.

The webinar addressed the current status of the anesthesia job market including supply and demand; qualities employers seek in candidates; where to search for opportunities; and how to prepare for interviews.

Webinar presenters were Robert Farrar, MD, JD, FCLM, executive vice president of medical affairs at Somnia Anesthesia; Brent Sommer, CRNA, MPHA, a nurse anesthetist at Desert Regional Medical Center, Palm Springs, CA; and Frank Schramm, MD, chief of anesthesia at Providence Regional Medical Center in Everett, WA. Paul Martin, MD, founder of GasWork.com, served as moderator.

In his presentation,Dr. Farrar explained why simply administering a safe anesthetic is no longer enough to ensure a successful career in the new outcomes-focused healthcare environment.Dr. Schramm agreed, and explained how a strong commitment to Quality Assurance is essential and impacts both the individual practitioner and the facility.Mr. Sommer described the steps involved in preparing for a successful interview, including how to prepare for a clinical skills evaluation.
