The Shaker Village of Pleasant Hill, for example, preserves and maintains the site of the Shaker community that one lived there. The American Saddlebred Museum, located on the grounds of the Kentucky Horse Park, features special exhibitions, interactive permanent exhibits, a children’s area, and an award-winning theater performance.

Outdoor Activities

Lexington’s Kentucky Horse Park is home to more than 50 breeds of horse and hosts nearly 1 million visitors each year. At Keeneland Race Course visitors can watch horse races and walk the beautiful grounds.

Visitors can also enjoy going on tours of Lexington’s 450 horse farms. The tours provide a true experience of what the city’s landscape has to offer. Lexington is also home to a number of world-class golf courses.
