Somnia Anesthesia is seeking anesthesiologists to join its team in the greater Hazleton area. New or recent grads welcome. Lehigh Valley Hospital – Hazleton is an integral part of the Lehigh Valley Health Networks. We are offering a $15,000 sign-on bonus.
Established in 1891 to provide medical care for the area’s coal miners, Lehigh Valley Health Networks is today a 150-bed not-for-profit hospital and part of the Greater Hazleton Health Alliance. The hospital’s surgical program has volume of 3,640 OR cases annually, in addition to 1,84 endoscopy cases. The surgical floor runs four ORs and one endoscopy room Monday through Friday. There were 654 births in 2015 and anesthesia was involved 84% with about 75% requiring epidurals.

The rich history of coal mining in this area of Northeastern Pennsylvania provides attractions like the Pennsylvania Anthracite Heritage Museum, the Lackawanna Coal Mine, and the Steamtown National Historic site.
